ah...relief

from a busy three weeks. I have been committed to overtime for the past three weeks. We more or less met our deadline. A few loose ends to tie up, but the biggest chunks of the project are complete. I've really been lost at work lately, I sort of understand what is going on, but then again I don't always. I see this as a really good thing, because this means I am learning new stuff. About the use of XML in a web/internet environment, about host files that redirect web requests from a local machine to a web service, about the architechture in general that exists at Rackley, etc., etc.

We are going to Macon for the weekend for a wedding. Looking forward to it. Leaving early in the morning. It's late, I've still got to pack, so goodnight.

much work

I have been working crazy hours for my employer Rackley Solutions. We have a deadline for the web software we write called SETWrite. It is quite a challenge trying to connect all the dots as every piece of this software is tightly integrated. I love my job because half the time I don't know what I'm doing, and if I don't know what I'm doing that means I'm learning new stuff, thus growing as an individual and as a team member at Rackley.

I intend to blog a little in the near future about various CSS and DHTML tips and tricks, or maybe some other web design techniques that are in my head. For now, work calls me back and I must answer.

It's late...

Welcome to my blog. I'm not entirely sure what will happen here as of yet. I hope to expand my mind by engrossing my thoughts in topics unlearned to me right now. Some of my interests include hanging out with my family, everything with computers - mostly programming and graphic design, riding my mountain bike, and history.

My career goal is to profitably operate a web design company from my home office. Tonight I am working on developing a web site for Anscott Design, which is my web design company that is in the works. I currently work full time for an employer and I am slowly building my skills along with ideas of what I will do for money when I am ready to take my leap of faith into the scary but exciting world of consulting. I will also be developing a business plan to get a better understanding of where my business will fit in the market and how it will become profitable. Writing a business plan will be a new challenge to me that I welcome with open arms. I am really looking forward to the learning experience.
