Centennial Park - Nashville

Andrea and Maddie took a trip to Centennial Park in Nashville and enjoyed the beautiful landscaping.

Our new gate.

The need for a gate has finally arisen with all too recent visits by a neighborhood dog, Sandy. Sandy enjoys harassing Fergie and eating her food. The gate will actually serve three purposes:
1) Keep Sandy out of Fergie's food.
2) Give Fergie a safe place to retreat to
3) Allow us to let Maddie and Nataly play on the deck without worry of Maddie tumbling down the stairs.

As you can see from the picture it sags a little on the latch side - so I still need to reinforce it with another 2x4 and a cable and turnbuckle. I also will stain it to match the deck after the wood dries out a little. The project cost about $80 ($35 of which was for tools so actually $45) and took about 4 hours to complete.

I love my popsicles! 

This is our latest weekend project! We have moved shelves from the pantry to the landry room (or closet, rather) and will build a bench in the now empty pantry space to give us a mud room. It will be complete with hooks at the top for coats and keys.
